WeWork bans meat throughout entire company!!!

Congratulations to We Work for banning meat from all their international locations, corporate functions, and accounting ledgers!

According to Bloomberg :

The startup has told its 6,000 global staff that they will no longer be able to expense meals including meat and that it won’t pay for any red meat, poultry or pork at WeWork events. In an email to employees this week outlining the new policy, co-founder Miguel McKelvey said the firm’s upcoming internal “Summer Camp” retreat would offer no meat options for attendees.”

“New research indicates that avoiding meat is one of the biggest things an individual can do to reduce their personal environmental impact,” said McKelvey in the email.

A bold and impressive move.

These are EXACTLY the type of moves companies and their leaders need to be taking if they wish to protect our planet and our animal friends.

Despite many efforts (and billions of advertising dollars) to “clean” meat, there is no such thing, as all meat is a product of violence and the strain that animal agriculture puts on the environment is mind-boggling.

According to Business Insider:

“WeWork estimates the policy will save 445.1 million pounds of Carbon Dioxide emissions by 2023, 16.6 billion gallons of water, and 15,507,103 animals.”

Think about those numbers.

That is 1 company.

Just 1.

So the real question here is, why hasn’t everyone does this already?
